Idiosyncratic drug reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005581
An adverse drug reaction that is qualitatively or quantitatively different from the expected pharmacological effects of the drug and occurs in a susceptible individual. These reactions are not dose-dependent and are not predictable from the known pharmacology of the drug. They are often attributed to genetic predispositions affecting drug metabolism or immune responses.
