Inhomogeneity error
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005853
A systematic error in spectrochemical analysis arising from a non-uniform distribution of the analyte within the sample or standard. This variation in concentration across the sample volume leads to an inaccurate measurement of the average analyte content. It can be minimized by proper sample preparation techniques, such as grinding and mixing, or by analyzing multiple subsamples.
