Non-linearity error

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008040

A systematic deviation of an instrument's response from a perfectly linear relationship between the measured input and the output signal. This error indicates that the sensitivity of the instrument changes across its operating range, leading to inaccurate readings at certain points. It is quantified as the maximum deviation from a straight line fitted to the calibration data.
