Irregular adjacent re-entry model
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006154
A model of chain folding in a lamellar polymer crystal in which each chain re-enters the crystal at an adjacent stem position, but the length of the stems, and so the fold period, is allowed to vary from fold to fold. The lamellar surface is therefore rougher than in the regular model, which fixes one fold period. Both differ from the switchboard model, where the stems are joined randomly.
