Mass density gradient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013258

A continuous or discontinuous variation in the concentration of a substance within a medium, resulting in a corresponding change in its mass density. This gradient is often established in centrifugation techniques to separate particles or molecules based on their buoyant density. It is expressed in units such as kilograms per cubic meter per unit length.
