Median effective dose

The dose of a substance that produces a specified effect in 50% of the test population. This value, often denoted as ED50, is a measure of the potency of a chemical in eliciting a particular biological response. It is a key parameter in pharmacology and toxicology for comparing drug efficacy or toxicant effects.
