Litchfield-Wilcoxon method
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006702
A graphical and statistical procedure for estimating the median effective dose (ED50) or median lethal dose (LD50) and their confidence intervals from quantal dose-response data. This method involves plotting the percentage of responders (e.g., mortality) against the logarithm of the dose on probit paper, allowing for the determination of the dose that elicits a response in 50% of the tested population. It is commonly applied in toxicology and pharmacology studies.
