Spearman-Karber method

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011084

A nonparametric procedure for estimating the median lethal or effective dose from quantal dose-response data without assuming a particular curve shape. It computes the mean of the tolerance distribution on a log-dose scale from the increments in response proportion between successive doses, and the antilog of that mean is reported as the LD50 or EC50. The classic form needs tested doses spanning 0% and 100% response, a requirement that trimmed versions relax.
