Effective concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003585
The concentration of a substance that produces a specified magnitude of a biological or pharmacological effect. This value is determined from a dose-response or concentration-effect curve for a graded response, or from a quantal dose-response curve for an all-or-none effect. The EC50 is the concentration that produces 50 percent of the maximum possible effect and is a standard measure of a drug's potency.
