Moving average method
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007605
A computational method for estimating a median lethal or effective concentration (LC50, EC50) or a median lethal dose (LD50) from quantal toxicity test data. It smooths the response proportions by averaging over adjacent test concentrations and then interpolates to the concentration giving a 50% response. The calculation is simplest when the concentrations form a geometric series with equal numbers of organisms at each.
