Microfluidic extraction device

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007329

A miniaturized apparatus that performs extraction operations using channels with dimensions on the micrometer scale. These devices manipulate small volumes of fluids, providing a high surface-area-to-volume ratio that accelerates mass transfer between immiscible phases for rapid and efficient analyte extraction. The entire device, including channels, mixers, and reservoirs, is fabricated on a single chip, often made from materials like glass, silicon, or polymers such as polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS).
