Microfluidics
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013286
The science and technology of systems that process or manipulate small amounts of fluids, using channels with dimensions of tens to hundreds of micrometers. These devices allow for precise control over fluid flow and mixing, enabling high-throughput screening, chemical synthesis, and analysis on a miniature scale. The behavior of fluids in microfluidic channels is dominated by surface forces, viscosity, and diffusion rather than by inertial effects.
