Electro-osmotic volume flow

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003776

The net volume of liquid that moves through a porous medium or capillary per unit time due to the application of an external electric field. This flow is driven by the interaction between the electric field and the mobile ions in the diffuse part of the electrical double layer. It is a key phenomenon in microfluidics and separation techniques.
