Supercritical fluid chromatography
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011595
A chromatographic technique that uses a supercritical fluid as the mobile phase to separate components of a mixture. The unique properties of supercritical fluids, such as high diffusivity and low viscosity, allow for faster separations and improved resolution compared to liquid chromatography. Carbon dioxide is the most common mobile phase due to its low critical temperature and non-toxicity.
