Liquid-liquid extraction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006695

A separation technique that involves transferring a solute from one liquid phase to another immiscible liquid phase. This method is widely used for purifying compounds, removing impurities, or concentrating analytes from complex matrices. The efficiency of extraction is governed by the distribution coefficient of the analyte between the two phases.
