Multifactorial inheritance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007639
A pattern of inheritance where a trait or disease is determined by the combined influence of multiple genes and environmental factors. Unlike Mendelian inheritance, there is no single gene responsible, and the risk of recurrence is typically lower. Many common chronic diseases exhibit this mode of inheritance.
