Mutual solubility
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007713
The extent to which two or more substances dissolve in each other to form a homogeneous solution. This property is particularly relevant for immiscible or partially miscible liquids, where each liquid dissolves a certain amount of the other. For example, phenol and water exhibit mutual solubility, forming two liquid phases at certain temperatures and compositions.
