Neurotoxicant

A substance that produces an adverse effect on the structure or function of the central or peripheral nervous system. These effects can range from subtle changes in behavior or cognition to severe neurological disorders, depending on the dose and duration of exposure. Examples include certain heavy metals like lead, some pesticides, and specific industrial chemicals.
