Normal coordinate analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008069
A computational method used to determine the normal modes of vibration and their corresponding frequencies for a molecule. This analysis involves solving the secular equation derived from the molecular potential energy and kinetic energy matrices. The results provide insights into the characteristic vibrational motions and can be compared with experimental spectroscopic data.
