Nth-generation product ion spectrum
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008093
A mass spectrum that displays the product ions resulting from 'n' successive stages of fragmentation of a selected precursor ion. For instance, a second-generation product ion spectrum shows ions formed by the fragmentation of a first-generation product ion. This type of spectrum is generated in multi-stage tandem mass spectrometry experiments to elucidate complex molecular structures.
