Number of pseudo-generations

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008160

A size measure for an irregular branched macromolecule such as a hyperbranched polymer, equal to the generation number of an ideal dendrimer whose count of repeat units per core unit matches that of the sample. Unlike the number of generations of a real dendrimer, which is an integer, it can be a decimal number. For hyperbranched polymers made from an ABx monomer and a By core monomer, it is calculated from the mole ratio of the two.
