Oral vaccination

The administration of a vaccine by mouth to induce an immune response. This method is designed to stimulate both systemic immunity and mucosal immunity, particularly within the gastrointestinal tract, which is a common entry point for pathogens. The Sabin polio vaccine is a well-known example of a live-attenuated oral vaccine that has been highly successful in global disease eradication efforts.
