Orthogonal projections to latent structures
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008340
A multivariate statistical method that separates the variation in the X-matrix (predictors) into two parts: one that is linearly related to the Y-matrix (responses) and another that is orthogonal to Y. This technique enhances the interpretability of models by isolating predictive variation from orthogonal variation. It is commonly used in chemometrics for quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) studies.
