Point group
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009061
A set of symmetry operations that leave at least one point in space fixed, describing the overall symmetry of a molecule. These operations include rotations, reflections, inversions, and improper rotations. Each molecule belongs to a specific point group, which dictates its spectroscopic properties and chirality.
