Polymer co-crystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009160
A crystalline phase whose lattice contains two or more different substances, one of them necessarily a polymer. The second component can be another polymer or a low-molar-mass species, so the recognised types are polymer clathrates, isomorphous polymer co-crystals and crystalline polymer inclusion complexes. It is a single crystal phase, unlike a blend, whose components crystallize separately or stay mixed in an amorphous phase.
