Co-nonsolvency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002451
A phenomenon where a polymer that is soluble in two individual solvents becomes insoluble when these two solvents are mixed together in certain proportions. This counterintuitive behavior arises from complex interactions between the polymer and the mixed solvent system. It is observed in systems like poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) in water/methanol mixtures.
