Recursive partitioning
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010034
A statistical method used for building decision trees by repeatedly splitting a dataset into smaller, more homogeneous subsets based on predictor variables. This technique aims to identify optimal splits that maximize the difference in the response variable between the resulting groups. It is widely applied in cheminformatics for classification and regression tasks, such as predicting drug activity.
