Recycling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010035
The collection and reprocessing of materials that would otherwise be disposed of as waste, transforming them into new products. This procedure involves sorting, cleaning, and processing source materials like glass, paper, plastic, and metals into raw materials for manufacturing. Recycling processes are categorized as primary (reprocessing into the same material), secondary (downcycling into lower-quality materials), or tertiary (chemical decomposition).
