Remediation

The process of reversing or stopping environmental damage, particularly the removal of pollutants or contaminants from soil, groundwater, or surface water. This often involves physical, chemical, or biological methods to restore an area to a less contaminated state. Common techniques include bioremediation, phytoremediation, and chemical oxidation.
