Reverse library search
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010314
A library search in which only the peaks present in the library reference spectrum are compared with the spectrum of the unknown, and any peaks of the unknown that are absent from the library spectrum are disregarded. This makes the match tolerant of impurity or co-eluting components in the measured spectrum. A forward search, by contrast, also penalizes peaks in the unknown that the library spectrum lacks.
