Probability-based matching
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009484
A method used in mass spectrometry for identifying unknown compounds by comparing their experimental mass spectra to a library of reference spectra. This technique assigns a statistical score based on the likelihood that the unknown spectrum matches a particular reference spectrum, considering peak intensities and m/z values. It accounts for variations and uncertainties in both experimental and library data.
