MS/MS data based identification
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007607
The process of identifying chemical compounds, particularly peptides and proteins, by comparing experimental tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) fragmentation patterns to theoretical or database-derived spectra. This method relies on matching the observed fragment ions to predicted fragments from known sequences. It is a standard approach in proteomics.
