Mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013261

A technique that involves multiple stages of mass analysis, where ions are first separated by mass-to-charge ratio, then fragmented, and finally the fragments are analyzed by mass-to-charge ratio. This method provides structural information about molecules and enhances the specificity and sensitivity of detection. It is often abbreviated as MS/MS or tandem mass spectrometry.
