Mass spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006999
An analytical technique that measures the mass-to-charge ratio of ions to identify and quantify molecules in a sample. It involves ionizing a sample, separating the ions in a mass analyzer, and detecting them to generate a mass spectrum. This method provides information about molecular weight, elemental composition, and structural characteristics of compounds.
