Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus theory
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010351
An extension of the Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel theory that incorporates quantum mechanical effects and a more detailed treatment of the transition state. It provides a statistical mechanical framework for calculating unimolecular reaction rate constants. This theory is widely used to model the kinetics of gas-phase reactions, particularly at low pressures.
