Riffling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010352
A method of sample division that uses a riffle splitter, a device with a series of chutes that alternately direct portions of the sample into two separate containers. This process reduces the sample size while maintaining its representativeness. Riffle splitters are commonly used for solid particulate materials to obtain smaller, homogeneous subsamples for analysis.
