Scan rate

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010546

The speed at which an instrumental parameter, such as potential in electrochemistry or wavelength in spectroscopy, is changed during an analytical measurement. In voltammetry, it is expressed in volts per second (V/s) and influences the current response. A faster scan rate can reveal kinetic information about electrochemical processes.
