Cyclic voltammetry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002816

An electroanalytical technique where the potential of a working electrode is swept linearly between two potential limits, then reversed to sweep back to the starting potential, while the resulting current is measured. This method provides information about the redox properties of an analyte, including reversibility, reaction mechanisms, and diffusion coefficients. The resulting plot of current versus potential is called a cyclic voltammogram.
