Semi-dilute solution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013542
A polymer solution with a concentration above the overlap concentration, where the coils of neighbouring chains begin to interpenetrate, but still well below the concentrated, melt-like state. The chains are screened into blobs, and properties such as osmotic pressure and correlation length follow scaling laws in concentration. Within this regime, entanglement effects appear only above a higher crossover concentration.
