Concentrated solution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002357
A polymer solution at a concentration where the domains occupied by individual macromolecules overlap so completely that they can no longer be told apart. Chain entanglement then governs viscosity and viscoelasticity, and the upper limit is the bulk amorphous polymer. For a high-molar-mass polymer the overlap concentration is low, often only a few percent by mass.
