Speed distribution function

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011171

A mathematical function that describes the probability of finding particles in a system with a particular speed. It provides insight into the range of speeds present within a collection of particles, such as gas molecules. The Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution is a common example for ideal gases.
