Subchronic

Relating to a period of exposure or a study of intermediate duration, which is longer than an acute exposure but shorter than a chronic one. In toxicology studies involving repeated dosing, the subchronic period is defined by regulatory guidelines. For rodent studies, this duration is typically 90 days, providing data on target organ toxicity and dose-response relationships.
