Successor complex
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011539
An encounter complex that has undergone a chemical transformation, such as electron transfer, but where the products are still held together by electrostatic attraction or solvent cage effects. This intermediate precedes the full dissociation of the products. It is distinct from the initial encounter complex where no chemical change has yet occurred.
