Direct reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003260
A chemical reaction where the reactants interact and form products without forming a long-lived intermediate complex. The energy and momentum transfer occur in a single, relatively swift encounter between the reacting species. This type of reaction is often characterized by a short interaction time between the colliding particles.
