Direct recoil spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003261
A surface analysis technique that uses a beam of energetic primary ions to bombard a sample surface, causing surface atoms to recoil. The energy and angle of these recoiled atoms are measured to determine the elemental composition and depth distribution of the outermost atomic layers. This method is particularly sensitive to light elements.
