Sympathetic ophthalmia

A rare, bilateral, diffuse granulomatous inflammation of the uveal tract of both eyes, occurring after penetrating trauma or surgery to one eye. It is an autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks components of the healthy eye, triggered by exposure of ocular antigens from the injured eye. This condition can lead to severe vision loss in both eyes.
