Tachycardia

An abnormally rapid heart rate, defined in adults as a resting rate exceeding 100 beats per minute. This condition can be a normal physiological response to stimuli such as exercise, fever, or emotional stress, but it can also indicate an underlying medical issue like heart disease or hyperthyroidism. Tachycardia is the opposite of bradycardia, which is an abnormally slow resting heart rate of fewer than 60 beats per minute.
