Thermogravimetric analyser
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011968
An instrument used to measure the change in mass of a sample as a function of temperature or time, under a controlled atmosphere. It consists of a precision balance, a furnace, and a temperature programmer. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) provides information about thermal stability, decomposition kinetics, and composition of polymeric materials.
