Thiols
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012017
Organic compounds containing a sulfhydryl functional group (-SH) attached to a carbon atom. They are the sulfur analogues of alcohols and are often characterized by strong, unpleasant odors. Thiols are more acidic than alcohols due to the weaker S-H bond and the larger size of sulfur.
