Total ion current
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012135
The sum of the currents carried by all ions of a particular polarity detected in a mass spectrometer. This measurement provides an indication of the total amount of ionized material entering the detector. It is often used as a general indicator of sample concentration or as a normalization factor in mass spectrometry experiments.
